Founded in 1964 by a group of local philanthropists and scientists, the center is probably most recognizable by the giant mammoth sculpture on the hills over the property. But there’s plenty more to see. The center’s Earth Science Museum features specimens of rocks and fossils from around the world, a mining display and fluorescent mineral display. The museum also boasts one of the largest collections of dinosaur eggs. The cactus and succulent garden on grounds is over 50 years old. There is also an iris garden featuring plants and trees mentioned in the Bible. It is open to the public. Get more information at
