RTA will no longer enforce mask wearing on the bus or at transportation centers. Effective immediately, masks will be recommended but not required on RTA buses. This change comes as a result of the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) recent decision to suspend mask enforcement on public transit nationwide. While RTA passengers and employees are no longer required to wear masks on board the bus, masks are welcome and remain an important preventive measure against COVID-19.
RTA’s mask requirement, which has been in place since spring 2020, has been based on federal regulations and the fact that safety is our number one priority. RTA thanks everyone for their commitment to safety and following the regulations for the last two years.
