Synopsis: The Riverside Transit Agency (Agency) invites proposals from qualified vendors to provide a Zero Emission Bus analysis and Transition Plan. The Agency seeks to conduct a system-wide analysis comparing its current fleet of buses operating fixed-route transit in the agency’s western Riverside County service area to zero-emission buses (ZEBs) in response to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) Regulation, which mandates the full conversion of bus fleets to zero-emission by 2040. The study will develop a recommended ZEB mode and provide a Zero Emission Bus Rollout Plan for fixed-route revenue fleet conversion by 2040 (with associated infrastructure and operating plan), as mandated by CARB. This Plan is required to be submitted to CARB by July 2020. The study findings will support this plan by identifying a comprehensive and sustainable plan for the Agency which complies with the regulation. This Study does not include the RTA demand response /Dial-a-ride fleet or agency support.
