Beginning March 4, the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) will host the first of nine community meetings designed to gather feedback on a proposed fare increase, the Agency’s first in more than 10 years. If approved by the RTA Board of Directors at their April 25 meeting, the first round of changes would go into effect July 2019 and a second round of changes in July 2021.
It’s taken him 2,000 miles, 113 hours, dozens of buses and parts of 35 days to reach his goal, but RTA Chairman of the Board Randon Lane has become the first person to ride all bus routes end-to-end. Lane’s public transportation odyssey --- which stretched from his home city of Murrieta to San Bernardino, from Corona to Escondido, Riverside to Disneyland, and everything in between --- came to an end on January 24 when his Route 10 bus stopped at RTA headquarters in Riverside.
