RTA
Board of Directors took the
following actions on March
24, 2005
Addressing
concerns of Dial-A-Ride users
and social service agencies,
the Riverside Transit Agency
(RTA) Board of Directors voted
to eliminate the upcoming
requirement that Dial-A-Ride
subscription service users
purchase a monthly $175 Dial-A-Ride
Subscription Pass. Subscriptions
users will instead pay the
standard new Dial-A-Ride fare
of $2.50 effective April 3.
The new policy will also permit
subscription service users
to utilize RTA’s new Buddy
Fare, which allows up to 10
people within a half-mile
radius to book a Dial-A-Ride
vehicle to the same location
and be charged only a $2.50
fare for the entire group.
The Buddy Fare is also effective
beginning April 3.
Presented
with certificates of appreciation
for their dedication and teamwork,
several RTA employees were
honored for their contribution
to the Agency’s 2004 United
Way Campaign. The campaign
raised just over $6,200.00,
resulting in a 300% increase
over the previous year’s campaign
total. Last October, RTA’s
campaign consisted of a week-long
series of events. From a 50/50
raffle, a bake sale and to
management washing cars, the
Agency pulled together to
raise funds for those most
in need within surrounding
communities. RTA was honored
on March 17th at the United
Way Annual Awards Luncheon
as one of the top 20 companies
to raise funds in Riverside
County.
The
next Board meeting will be
held on Thursday, April 28
at 2 p.m.
