RIVERSIDE, CA — (January 7, 2008) — This Sunday, as part of its ongoing
commitment to customer service, the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) will make
improvements to nearly half of its routes and launch a new CommuterLink route in the Pass Area.
The upgrades will affect routes 1, 7, 8, 10, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22, 25, 27, 29, 33, 36, 38, 39, 41, 61, 204, 206 and 208. RTA will also introduce two new express routes: the 38E, which will provide service from the Jurupa and Mira Loma area to the East Ontario Metrolink Station; and CommuterLink Route 210, which will provide limited-stop service from the Pass Area to Moreno Valley and downtown Riverside with stops at the RTA Downtown Terminal and the Marketplace Metrolink Station.
As part of the improvements, the Agency’s Customer Information Center hours have been expanded to better provide customers with bus route, schedule, fare and pass purchase information, and to take comments and suggestions. The new hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 9:30 on weekends.
The upgrades are based on customer suggestions and the recently completed
Comprehensive Operational Analysis, which identified ways to improve transit in the
growing region and will serve as a guiding document for future improvements.
More information on the changes can be found in the new Ride Guide available on buses and at pass outlets this week or online at www.Riversideransit.com.
The Riverside Transit Agency provides public transportation for Western Riverside County, operating 39 fixed routes, 7 commuter routes and 15 demand response services. RTA’s service area spans 2,500 square miles, the second-largest in the nation.
