RTA’s
patriotic-themed buses ready to
roll
Riverside
County residents might notice
something new about their public
buses beginning this Fourth
of July weekend when the Riverside
Transit Agency (RTA) rolls
out three new vehicles designed
to celebrate our nation’s
independence.
The
buses will be wrapped in patriotic
designs that showcase waving
American fl ags, bald eagles,
the Constitution and the Statue
of Liberty. The super-sized
images will cover the exterior
of the 40-foot vehicles that
travel to various parts of RTA’s
service area, including Riverside,
Corona, Loma Linda and Moreno
Valley. The buses will also
participate in upcoming parades.
RTA’s
previous, now-retired Flag Buses
took home top honors in the
Riverside Black History Month
Parade, and have been featured
during Fourth of July parades
across the region.
Unlike
previous Flag Buses, though,
each of the new vehicles will
carry different designs created
by Riverside graphic artist
Rob Dudley. The vehicles will
be wrapped in the new designs
at RTA’s
Riverside headquarters on June
28, 29 and 30. They will make
their fi rst appearance at the
City of San Jacinto Parade on
July 2, and parades in Temecula
and Moreno Valley on July 4.
The
Riverside Transit Agency provides
public transportation for Western
Riverside County, operating
38 fi xed routes, 5 commuter
routes and 15 demand response
services. RTA’s
service area spans 2,500 square
miles, the second largest in
the nation. For bus route and
