NEW
OFFICERS ELECTED TO RTA BOARD
OF DIRECTORS
The
Riverside Transit Agency’s Board
of Directors unanimously selected
Beaumont Councilman Jeff Fox to
take over leadership of the governing
board during a monthly meeting
on Dec. 15. Fox will take over
the responsibilities held most
recently by San Jacinto Councilman
Jim Ayres. The chairman of the
board is responsible for leading
meetings, representing RTA during
public events and is often the
spokesman for the Agency.
The
new vice chair is Frank Hall of
Norco and the new second vice
chair is Frank Kessler of Canyon
Lake. Board members typically
serve one-year terms, and elections
are held in December.
Chairman
Fox has served on the RTA Board
for five years. During that time
he has been actively involved,
serving on the Board Administrative
Committee, the Board Executive
Committee. Fox is also a member
of the San Gorgonio Pass Area
Transportation NOW Chapter. He
routinely participates in lobbying
efforts for RTA, and his visits
to Washington DC over the past
two years have helped RTA collect
much-needed funds for various
projects, including the construction
of the Riverside, Corona and Temecula
transit centers.
The
Riverside Transit Agency provides
public transportation for Western
Riverside County, operating 38
fixed routes, 5 commuter routes
and 15 demand response services.
RTA’s service area spans 2,500
square miles, the second-largest
in the nation. For bus route and
schedule information contact RTA
